VGNCloud
VPS and VDS are sold as different labels. One shop writes VDS when they want the listing to look more dedicated. Another writes VPS for the same virtual machine. We sell one product: a virtual machine with root and a dedicated IPv4. It is on the VPS page. We do not list a second SKU called VDS.
What the letters usually mean in ads
Historically some hosts used VDS for a virtual machine with less sharing, and VPS for a cheaper slice. There is no standard. Ask what you actually get:
- Root, or a locked panel user.
- Your own IPv4, or a shared address.
- A disk that is yours, or a quota on someone else's.
- A location you can name.
Those four answers matter. The three letters do not. On VGNCloud the answers are: root, your own IPv4, your NVMe, one Nordic site. Root and IPv4 have their own pages.
This is not a whole physical host
A dedicated server is a whole machine. A VPS is not. If you need a whole host, write to contact and we will say so. Do not buy a VPS expecting that. We will not dress the VPS up as bare metal to win a keyword.
When you want the machine anyway
You need a port, a daemon, or isolation. Shared web hosting is the wrong shape. Read when you need a VPS. Pick the size from memory. How to choose a plan.
Game servers are a different shop
Minecraft, Rust and the rest have panels on ValueGameNode. A VPS is a Linux box if you want to run your own stack. We will not sell a quiet game tile here to dodge that.
